A Journey of Faith and Trust
When Everything Changed
There's a moment in life when faith stops being just words on a page and becomes real. For me, that moment came unexpectedly, in the middle of an ordinary day.
I was struggling with a decision. Not a small one. The kind that keeps you awake, makes your stomach tight, and fills your mind with endless "what-ifs." I had done everything right, made lists, prayed, asked for advice. But I still felt lost, like I was walking through fog without a map.
Then I read John 1:50: "You will see greater things than these..."
Nathanael had just met Jesus. Jesus had told him, "I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you." And Nathanael was amazed. But Jesus wasn't done. He promised something bigger was coming. Greater things.
In that moment, something shifted inside me.
The Realization
I realized: God already knows the ending of my story.
Not just knows it. He sees it. He sees every choice I will make, every consequence, every blessing that will come from my decisions. He is not surprised by anything. He is not worried. He is not hoping things work out.
He knows they will.
This is omniscience, not just knowing facts, but knowing the future, knowing my heart, knowing what I need before I ask. And suddenly, my anxiety felt smaller. Not gone, but smaller.
How It Changed Me
I stopped trying to control everything. When you truly believe God knows what's ahead, you can release your grip on outcomes. You can trust the process, even when you can't see the path.
I started listening differently. If God knows everything, then the gentle nudges I feel, the quiet voice telling me to reach out to someone, to try something new, to wait, those aren't accidents. They're guidance. I started paying attention.
I found peace in uncertainty. The fog didn't disappear. But I stopped being afraid of it. If God knows what's in the fog, I can walk forward with confidence, even when I can't see clearly.
I understood "greater things" differently. Jesus wasn't just talking about miracles. He was saying: Trust me. What you're about to see will be bigger than what you imagine right now. That promise applies to all of us.
For You
Maybe you're in the fog too. Maybe you're making a big decision, or you're worried about your children, or you're uncertain about your future. Maybe you're wondering if God really sees you, really knows what you need.
He does.
God's omniscience isn't meant to make you feel small or powerless. It's meant to set you free. When you truly understand that God knows everything, your past, your present, your future, you can stop carrying the weight alone.
You can trust. You can rest. You can move forward.
And you will see greater things than these.
A Reflection for Today
Take a moment. Think about one thing you're worried about right now. One decision that feels too big, one fear that feels too heavy.
Now imagine God looking at that situation from the end of your story. He already knows how it turns out. He already knows the good that will come. He's not worried.
Can you release it? Even just a little?
That's where faith begins.
